i)Computer Aided Design(CAD):- The major use of Computer Graphics is in design process, particularly      for engineering & architectural system, but almost all products are now computer designed.

CAD methods are now routinely use in the designing process buildings, automobiles, air crafts and many other products.

ii) Cartography:-Computer Graphics are used to produce accurate and schematic representations of graphical and other natural phenomena from measured data.

Example:-Geographic maps, Weather maps, population density maps, contour maps etc.

iii)Animation :- Animation is rapid display of a sequence of images of 2D or 3D network position in order to create an illusion of movement. It is an optical illusion of motion due to the persistence of vision and can be created and demonstrated in number of ways.

Simulation:- Simulation is a imitations of some real things. For example:- Nuclear and chemical reactions, deformation of mechanical structures under loads etc. can be visualized.

iv) Education and Training :- Computer generated models of physical, financial and economic systems, can help trainees to understand the operation of the system. For example- A modern dictionary elaborating the meaning of the word. The user can also listen to the proper pronunciation of the word.

v) Plotting 2D-3D curve:- Graphs of mathematical functions, economic function can be easily drawn. It facilitates decision making.

For example- Histograms, Pie-Charts, Bar Graph etc.

vi) Art and Commerce:- Computer Graphics is highly used in modern movies and advertisement. Different kinds of software packages are now commercially available for creating easy drawing.

vii) Morphing:- Morphing is a technique in which one object is transfer into another in such a way that change appear to be smooth and non- rapid.

viii)Communication:- A major use of computer graphics is in communication. A picture is more communicative or understandable as compared to textual or written data.

ix) Entertainment:- Computer Graphics methods are now commonly used in making motion pictures, music, videos & television shows.

Sometimes the graphics scenes are displayed themselves and sometime graphics object are combined with the actors and live scenes.

x) Image Processing:- Image Processing is a technique to modify or interrupts existing pictures such as photographs or T.V scenes.

* Improve picture Quality
*Machine perception of visual information as used in robotics.

xi) Medical Application:- Computer graphics has became a powerful tool of diagnosis & treatment in the hands of doctor. 2D image of cross section of human body or specific organs are produced by a CAT(Computerized Axial Tomography) scan.

* Tomography is a technique of x-ray photography that allows cross sectional views of systems to be displayed.
